Inside, the 2025 Mazda CX-5 cabinet is often praised for its premium feel, high-quality materials, and clean, modern design. The interior of the CX-5 is designed with comfort in mind. The seats are generally well-cushioned and supportive, making long journeys enjoyable. Maxda cars feature a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, which is primarily controlled by the rotary controls and volume buttons on the center console. The rear seats offer ample room for passengers, although tall people may find legroom cramped. The accelerator pedal with a hinged floor feels better than the standard version that hangs above the floor, the well-designed steering wheel is directly in front of the driver and does not move at a small angle, and all the front seats have the same height for optimal comfort. The Mazda CX-5’s back seat is adult-sized, but it’s not a huge space, and in our testing, it could only fit nine suitcases behind the rear seats. However, the storage space is achieved with a flat floor. In the cabin there are several nooks and crannies for storing smartphones and other small things, in front of the center console there is a deep tray and a useful room with removable shelves. Cargo space is generally adequate for the class but can be small compared to other competitors.

2025 Mazda CX-5 : Engine

The Mazda CX-5’s standard 187-horsepower four-cylinder engine is very responsive when starting from red lights or running around town, so it feels faster than it is. The 256-horsepower turbocharged version we tested delivered quick acceleration, with both engines mated to a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The base-engine CX-5 took 8.1 seconds to reach 60 mph. While it’s not great, it’s on par with the Honda CR-V and beats the Toyota RAV4 by 0.2 seconds. The turbo engine is the driver’s choice, reaching 60 mph in 6.2 seconds.

The Mazda CX-50 can tow a lot with a 3,500-pound trailer, but that’s only if it’s optioned with the turbo engine, otherwise, it has the same towing capacity as the Mazda 2025 CX-5. The more powerful turbocharged engine is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.CX-5 is tested both on our 75 mph highway as part of our extensive testing program, and the regular engine returned 32 mpg compared to the turbo four’s 30 mpg result.
