2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA : Interior
The GLA has a nice interior that seats up to five people, although four will feel more comfortable. i-Mercedes has fixed that with the current generation model. Rear-seat passengers face almost five inches of additional legroom, as well as increased room for shoulders and elbows. The code helps the i-GLA compete more directly with key rivals like the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Volvo XC40. Interior materials look upscale, and the layout of controls and climate control vents is similar to what we see in the GLB class; column-mounted gear lever, center console-mounted infotainment controller, and radial vents along the dashboard. Cargo capacity is adequate and grows when the rear seats are folded flat, and the load floor is flush with the sill base, making it easier to slide bulkier items into the trunk. In our tests, the GLA250 fit all six suitcases in our carry-on luggage behind the rear seat.
Every 2024 GLA is equipped with two 10.3-inch screens—one for the driver’s display and one for the infotainment system. This is a slightly more refined setup in the Mercedes lineup that has received mixed reviews from our editors. The system can be operated via the touchscreen, using voice commands, or using the touchpad control unit in the center console. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard; navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, a head-up display, and a Burmester premium sound system are optional.
2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA : Engine
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA easily handles winding roads, corners, and tight spaces, providing a stable and confident driving experience. While the ride quality is generally smooth, the high-performance Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 has a stiffer suspension that makes road imperfections more noticeable. The GLA 250 accelerates from zero to 60 mph in about 6.8 seconds, while the GLA 35 does it in just 5.1 seconds. Both engines have a mild-hybrid system that provides mostly smooth stop/start transitions, but the power delivery can be a bit uneven when you step on the gas pedal.
Still, both engines offer plenty of power for confident acceleration and overtaking. The front-wheel-drive GLA 250 gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, while the all-wheel-drive GLA 250 4Matic gets 25/33 mpg city/highway. Unsurprisingly, the performance-oriented AMG GLA 35 4Matic performs the worst at 22/28 mpg city/highway, but those estimates are still on par with its competitors.
2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA : Safety
2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA has yet to be crash-tested, and this Benz’s list of standard driver-assistance features is, as expected, short. The GLA has a full complement of LATCH connectors for the outboard rear seats and a detachable anchor for the center rear seat. At the time of writing, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA does not have an estimated reliability score. Automatic emergency braking and high-beam assist are standard across the range. Still, more advanced driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist will require the addition of the Driver Assistance package. For more information on GLA class crash test results, visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA’s important safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
