In our testing, the EQS luxury sedan delivers the kind of quiet, silky ride you’d expect from an electric Mercedes flagship.

All 2025 EQS models feature a lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 118.0 kWh, an increase in capacity over last year’s model. The EPA hasn’t yet updated its range estimates for the 2025 EQS, but Mercedes says the larger battery and changes to the regenerative braking system will boost driving range by about 11 percent. That means the most efficient model, the EQS450+, could see up to 390 miles of range per charge. With a 200-kW fast-charging capacity, each EQS can charge its battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 31 minutes. When plugged into a 240-volt Level 2 charger, it takes 11.5 hours to go from 10 percent to 100 percent. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy test route, which is part of our comprehensive regimen, the EQS580 got an impressive 350 miles of range with the older, lower-capacity battery pack. The EPA hasn’t released fuel economy estimates for the 2025 EQS lineup.
