2023 SEAT Tarraco : Interior
SEAT Tarraco has a smart dashboard, easy-to-use infotainment, and a well-built but uncluttered cabin. However, the overall design is complex. Tarraco features things like leather upholstery and colorful ambient lighting but if you want a shiny car inside it can be better with a luxury SUV like the BMW X3. SEAT Tarraco comes with all the infotainment you need as a standard. In the middle of the cabin, you find an eight-inch screen that is always proud of the dashboard. It has colorful graphics and its smooth controls mean it detects the same textures and switches the touch that you would normally use on your smartphone.
The built-in sat-nav is easy to use and provides clear directions but in most cases, it will be easy to use navigation apps on your smartphone using Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto for the car. It’s smarter than a sat-nav car that automatically takes you through traffic, and connects your phone to car USB, and gives you instant access to your contacts and music apps like Spotify. Along with the center screen, you get another 10.25-inch screen behind the steering wheel. It provides speedo and rev counter indicators, but can also display a large map that makes it easy to follow sat-nav instructions even if you trash with directions. Ironically, the digital metal binnacle is not compatible with your phone’s sat-nav.
2023 SEAT Tarraco : Engine
2023 SEAT Tarraco optioned of two petrol engines: 148bhp 1.5 TSI Evo turbocharged and 187bhp 2.0 TSI power. 2023 Tarraco comes with a 1.5-liter entry and six-speed manual gearbox, while the range 2.0-liter TSI comes with seven DSG gears and a 4-wheel drive 4Drive. The 1.5-liter petrol feels depleted, especially when full, with only 250Nm of torque and power at the end of the rev range. As compared to the 2.0-liter petrol it sounds powerful, it helps a lot with 320Nm of torque. However, that the four-wheel-drive system and DSG transmission adds weight, making it dull to operate and slowing Tarraco nations slower.
There are also two diesel options, both 2.0 TDI units available at 148bhp or 187bhp. These are engines that we would recommend if you intend to opt for four-wheel drive, although SEAT offers a less powerful version with front-wheel-drive and DSG auto transmission. At 340Nm of torque and 400Nm of torque, these two diesel engines have the full power required for a full SUV.
2023 SEAT Tarraco : Safety
A long list of security equipment is available, but not all come as standard. Tarraco was tested by Euro NCAP and received a five-star safety rating, as well as a high adult safety score. The mechanical Skoda Kodiaq also received full marks, while all SEAT models since 2011 have been awarded five stars. Pre-assisted cycling, lane-keeping assist, and emergency calls are common throughout the range, while adaptive cruise control is common in the Xcellence segment. Also available are blind-spot detection, traffic signal detection, emergency assistance, and, for the first time in SEAT, a pre-crash assistant, and a rollover assistant. Pre-crash assist is able to respond in two 10 seconds if it detects a potential danger, tightens belts, turns on hazard lights, raises windows, and closes the roof.
