The 2023 Porsche Cayenne is a series of mid-size luxury crossover sports utility vehicles manufactured by German automaker Porsche. 2023 Porsche Cayenne : Interior
Inside, the high-end cabin is filled with soft leather surfaces and other flamboyant touches, and it’s stylish and handsome. Cayenne’s infotainment system is generally easy to use. The touchscreen is huge and responsive to inputs, but it’s often smudged due to its glossy surface. This screen is very integrated with adjusting settings, so using it while driving can be a bit of a distraction.
The infotainment system uses a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen display mounted in the center of the instrument cluster. Its slick interface includes a configurable main menu and lots of personalized settings. While the system was responsive and easy to use during our tests, the screen suffered from smudges. A rotary controller will help reduce distractions while driving. Every Cayenne has a Wi-Fi access point as well as Porsche Connect Plus with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A number of upgraded sound systems include a 14-speaker Bose unit or a much more expensive Burmester setup that pumps 1455 watts into 21 speakers. An existing rear-seat entertainment system adds two 10.0-inch screens behind the front headrests.
2023 Porsche Cayenne : Engine
Every 2023 Cayenne model is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and responsively. The base setup is a 335-horsepower turbocharged V6. There’s also a 434-horsepower twin-turbo V6 and three twin-turbo V8s with 453, 541, and 631 horsepower ratings. The twin-turbo V6 in the Cayenne S should satisfy everyone but the most performance-oriented customers. However, if you really feel the need to flaunt when leaving a traffic light, opt for one of the twin-turbo V8s that deliver dazzling acceleration. The Turbo GT accelerates from zero to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.
Like many luxury midsize SUV rivals, it’s more fuel efficient than this Porsche, gets 17/22 mpg city/highway. More powerful models see a drop in fuel economy, while the top-ranked Turbo GT gets 14/19 mpg city/highway. Regardless of body style, the ratings are basically the same for every trim.
2023 Porsche Cayenne : Safety
Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has crash-tested the 2023 Cayenne. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rearview camera, head-up display, parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, traffic jam assist, collision warning, traffic sign recognition, parking camera system, lane keeping assist, and night vision assist, lane change assistance, and parallel and vertical parking assistance.
