2023 Pontiac Aztek
The 2023 Pontiac Aztek Car is a mid-size crossover SUV marketed by General Motors and is a re-engineered variant, of the Buick Rendezvous. The Pontiac Aztek featured a four-speed automatic transmission with a V-6 engine, a front-engined 5-door crossover with front-wheel drive, and optional all-wheel drive. Instead of sliding doors, the design used traditional rear-opening doors and a two-piece tailgate, while the lower part was created with seat recesses and cup holders.
Other Aztek Car features included a front center console that doubled as a removable cooler, optional rear stereo controls in the cargo area, an optional sliding cargo floor with grocery compartments, and an optional camping package with an attachable tent and inflatable mattress. The Pontiac Aztec concept car was well received in past. The Xtreme had its futuristic style and promised maximum versatility for the targeted “Generation X” buyer demographic to support a young and active lifestyle.
The versatility of the Montana van and the traditional character traits of sports utility vehicles blend them into a unique and polarizing alternative to SUVs and minivans. With a boldly aggressive exterior that can only come from Pontiac, the Aztek opens up a wide gap between the lookalike, casual SUVs on the road. With its distinctive wide track stance, cat-eye headlights, oversized fog lamps, and protective side cladding, Aztec looks like it stepped out of the Road Warrior movie.
Pontiac Aztek Interior
A portable cooler is standard on the Pontiac Aztek GT model and is attached to the center console. The fully insulated container holds twelve 12-ounce cans of your favorite soft drink. Aztek GT also has removable utility packs built into front door compartments for easy portable storage of cell phones, sunglasses, or sunscreen. Two seating configurations are offered, with a choice of front bucket seats, three-passenger fold-down 50/50 seats, or double captain seats in the second row.
The rear 50/50 split seat features a lightweight modular design that can be folded, swung forward, or removed to create extra space if desired. The Aztek Pontiac has a wide, low, and flat cargo floor with 93.5 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seats removed. Drop the tailgate and the Aztec accommodates four full sheets of 3/4″ plywood. A dozen cargo anchors, rear usable mesh and side trim, and storage spaces built into the tailgate help track loose ends.
Pontiac Aztek Engine
Both the base SE and upgraded GT models are powered by GM’s tried-and-true 3400, 3.4-liter OHV V6, producing 185 horsepower and assisted by an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. The Aztek has a 3,500-pound towing rating with the optional towing option that includes heavy-duty engine cooling, a high output alternator, and auto-leveling rear suspension.
Pontiac Aztek Safety
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave Aztek a Marginal overall score in the front offset test. However, they did not test for side effects. Combines Driver and Passenger star ratings into a single preliminary rating. The front barrier test simulates a head-on collision between two similar vehicles traveling at 35 mph each. NHTSA’s 5-Star Safety Ratings help consumers compare vehicle safety when looking for a Pontiac Aztek, more stars mean safer cars.
