The 2023 Chevrolet Montana or Pontiac Montana or Pontiac Trans Sport is a van sold by General Motors. Pontiac Montana offers the latest convenience features like Chrysler, Honda, and Toyota. The Pontiac Montana SV6 is more family-friendly than the old Montana, as it follows the Pontiac Honda and places folding center trays between the 1st and 2nd-row captain’s seats.

A discretionary PhatNoise versatile computerized media framework permits proprietors to store a large number of MP3s or potentially a few dozen films. Other notable options include dual power sliding side doors, leather seats, 115-volt A/C outlet, trip computer, rear parking assist, heated seats, and a remote car start system. A sports package with a 3.9-liter V6, 17-inch chrome alloys, engine cooler, and sports badge is optional. The SV6 is also one of the few minivans to offer factory-fitted mobility options, including a lowered floor and a 2nd-row sit-and-lift seat.

Pontiac Montana Interior

The Pontiac Montana SV6 seats seven, and the folding third-row seat offers a convenient 50/50 split. A lovely color scheme with faux metal accents brightens up the interior of the van. Folding center trays are available between the first and 2nd-row seats. A top rail system provides rear-seat access to air conditioning and entertainment functions and can be equipped with a variety of storage containers. Switching to the PhatNoise digital media system saves you the hassle of fiddling with DVDs on the go, while the optional remote car start system makes it easy to warm up the van on cold mornings.

Pontiac Montana Engine

The standard engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 200 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with a four-speed automatic transmission, and Pontiac offers this engine for the front-wheel drive Montana SV6 and the all-wheel drive version. A 3.9-liter V6 with 240 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque is optional, but only on the front-wheel drive SV6. The standard V6 powerhouse is lower compared to its competitors, they recommend opting for the 3.9-liter V6. The Montana SV6’s suspension is on the soft side, providing a smooth ride and average handling for this class. Upgrade to sport suspension provides more responsive handling, but maneuverability in tight spaces is still compromised by the van’s large turning radius.

Pontiac Montana Safety

All Montana models come standard with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. Side impact airbags are optional for 1st and 2nd-row passengers, but no protection for third-row occupants. The StabiliTrak stability control system is optional. NHTSA gave the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6 an excellent five-star rating for driver and front passenger protection in frontal collisions. In side collisions, the SV6 earned four stars for front occupant protection and five stars for rear occupants. In the frontal impact test conducted by IIHS, the Pontiac Montana minivan received the highest rating.
