The 2023 BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. The 2023 BMW M6 sits at the pinnacle of the stylish coupe lineup with a formidable 567 hp V8 engine. The BMW M6 is available in a single trim level as a coupe or convertible. 2023 M6 Coupe models feature a carbon fiber roof, while the Convertible features an electrically operated fabric roof and a heated glass rear window that can be raised independently of the roof to serve as a wind blocker. Like all 6 Series models, the BMW M6 2023 features a luxurious cabin trimmed with BMW’s highest-end materials, including sunlight-reflecting trim for the convertible.

The blending a tasteful yet aggressive design with outstanding performance, the BMW M6 is indeed a sexy beast. The power comes from a 560-hp 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 paired with a seven-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. This much brute power might not be expected from a comfortable and sassy convertible, but that’s exactly why we love it. While more agile than the 6 series, the steering and brakes lack the feedback needed to make the M6 a true sports car.

BMW’s classic analog gauges are easy to read at a glance, and the iDrive infotainment interface works well for controlling and adjusting all of the M6’s systems, earning extra points for its beautiful large display. However, compared to some competing systems, iDrive often requires a few more clicks and turning the control knob to get what you want.

The widely adjustable front seats of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe are extremely supportive and are a perfect fit for almost any body type. The BMW 2023 M6 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 with rear-wheel drive, producing an awe-inspiring 552 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. Choosing the Competition package increases output to 600 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automated manual transmission with shift paddles is standard, and a conventional six-speed manual transmission is available as a free option. An automatic stop-start engine function is also included to maintain stagnant fuel. In the performance test, an M6 convertible with an automatic manual transmission accelerated to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. The coupe is roughly 250 lbs lighter, so expect it to be marginally faster. EPA fuel economy estimates are at 16 mpg (14 city/20 highway) with automatic transmission and 17 mpg (15/22) with manual transmission for both coupe and convertible.
