2024 Lucid Gravity
The 2024 Lucid Gravity is a 3-row electric SUV with a Supercar performance from Lucid Motors. Lucid Gravity competes with the Audi Q8 e-tron, Cadillac Lyriq, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X. Lucid Air’s luxuriously lined cabin is expected to feature plenty of touchscreen controls, a mostly glass roof, plenty of room for adults in both the front and back seats, and quality materials such as leather, wood, and metal accents. The startup automaker also promised supercar performance levels for the SUV.
2024 Lucid Gravity : Interior
Inside, there will be high-resolution Glass Cockpit displays running the company’s next-generation Lucid UX. Lucid has only shown some partially hidden images of Gravity’s exterior so far, and we can see a pair of reclining second-row seats. The Lucid Gravity’s interior, infotainment system, and features haven’t been fully disclosed, but Lucid says it will include the latest version of the Glass Cockpit digital instrumentation and a new version of the company’s software interface.
It is expected to feature a large digital instrument cluster that fits directly into the dashboard infotainment system’s touchscreen. Voice recognition is sure to be a standard feature, as will smartphone connectivity features like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Lucid said the Gravity will be offered as a two-row SUV with room for five, or as an optional third-row SUV that can seat six or seven drivers, depending on configuration.
2024 Lucid Gravity : Engine
The Lucid Gravity SUV shares its mechanical underpinnings with the Air sedan, except for the standard all-wheel-drive dual-electric motor variant. Like the Air, the Gravity is likely to be offered in a performance-oriented Grand Touring trim with around 1000 horsepower, while a maximum-performance Sapphire model with up to 1200 horsepower is also a possibility. Like the Air, the highest-priced models will likely be the most powerful models, with lesser Gravity trims coming with lower horsepower ratings.
Although its sedan sibling has a driving range of up to 516 miles per charge with its 112 kWh battery pack, the Gravity’s longer, blunter SUV styling will likely be less aerodynamic and its range will need to be reduced slightly as a result. Still, the Gravity’s range should be longer than that of the most efficient Model X SUV. Like the Air, the Gravity should be able to charge quickly with DC fast charging and may even come with three years of free charging via Electrify America charging stations.
2024 Lucid Gravity : Safety
Lucid Gravity has not yet been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). A number of driver-assistance features are likely, including the level 3 self-driving technology that Lucid has promised for the future. Key safety features will include adaptive cruise control with lane centering, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist.
