The 2025 Ferrari 488 is a mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari. The Ferrari 488 car replaced the 458 and was the first mid-engined Ferrari to use a turbocharged V8 since the F40. Ferrari 488 was replaced by Ferrari F8. The Ferrari 488 is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that has a smaller displacement but produces higher power output than the 458’s naturally aspirated engine. Ferrari 488 rockets from rest to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds, zipping through corners and down in no time with unparalleled agility.

Under the hood of the 488 is a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8, producing a whopping 711 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission handles operations by sending power to the vehicle’s rear wheels. In track tests, it went from zero to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds. This puts it on par with the McLaren 720S. However, the Lamborghini Huracán Evo is faster, completing the sprint in just 2.5 seconds.

The Ferrari 488 has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Additionally, the 2025 Ferrari 488 has very few driver assistance features. Basic safety features include a rearview camera and rear parking sensors, but a blind spot warning system is not offered.
