The 2025 Ford Expedition is a full-size three-row SUV manufactured by Ford. With its body-on-chassis structure and four-wheel drive feature, Expeditions provides peace of mind to drivers who want to go on an unusual journey. They also offer one of the most forgiving rides, but this is offset somewhat by their inaccurate steering. Likewise, its spacious cabins are punctuated by some stylish interior trimmings. For example, unlike the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, which offer multiple powertrain options, every 2024 Expedition is powered by a twin-turbocharged V-6. Inside, the interior has a well-crafted interior with a rugged yet elegant aesthetic. Luxury materials such as Palermo leather, aluminum and open-pore wood are used in the upper coverings. There are some noticeable hard plastics around, but the Expedition still has one of the nicest cabins in the segment. Both the regular Expedition and the long-wheelbase Expedition Max have roomy interiors and a third row that won’t torture adults, unlike some rivals. Max also offers unrivaled interior storage space. Every model features a power-folding third row that can be controlled from the cargo area or the rear seats. Both the second and third rows fold completely flat for a flat floor, making it easier to load items.
2025 Ford Expedition Platinum
The Ford Expedition comes standard with a massive 12.0-inch touchscreen that runs Ford’s Sync4 infotainment software. In addition to the ability to accept over-the-air updates, it also features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A subscription Wi-Fi hotspot is also available, along with a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo and rear-seat entertainment system. If the standard touchscreen isn’t large enough, the Expedition can also be fitted with a vertically oriented 15.5-inch unit, which can also be found inside the electric Mustang Mach-E.
2025 Ford Expedition : Engine
The 2025 Expedition is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 and a responsive 10-speed automatic transmission paired with rear- or all-wheel drive. The standard engine produces 380 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, but on Limited models, this output is increased to 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet. An even higher-output version is available in Timberline trim and the Limited with the Stealth Performance package that bumps those figures to 440 horses and 510 pound-feet. The Timberline model hit 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds at our test track, besting the V-8-powered Tahoe Z71 by a whopping 2.4 seconds, Stealth Performance model beat Timberline’s time by 0.2 seconds.

All Ford Expeditions 2026 use an independent rear suspension. The Expedition can tow up to 9,300 pounds, while the longer Expedition Max’s rating is limited to 9,000 pounds. EPA estimates for the rear-wheel-drive Expedition are up to 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. All-wheel-drive models have estimates of up to 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. The Expedition and Expedition Max we tested on our 75-mph fuel economy route, part of our extensive testing regimen, fell short of that mark, returning 20 mpg.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Ford Expedition an overall safety rating of five out of five stars; All models earned five stars in frontal and side crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not crash-tested the 2025 Expedition.
