2025 GMC Hummer EV
The 2025 GMC Hummer EV is a line of battery-electric heavy-duty vehicles manufactured by General Motors and sold under the GMC brand. The Hummer EV is available as a pickup truck and SUV. The 2025 GMC Hummer EV 3X Pickup has a top speed of 106 miles per hour and can go from 0 to 60 mph in about three seconds. The 2025 GMC Hummer EV has 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque, the highest horsepower and torque ratings available for a pickup.
The Hummer brand now lives under the GMC umbrella, its impeccable design and outstanding off-road capabilities are faithfully supported in EV form. The most interesting aspect of the reinvented Hummer is Ultium battery technology that provides fast charging times and a massive battery pack that provides an estimated 300-plus miles of range. Inside the cabin, it’s visually identical to its pickup truck counterpart, with a mix of high-tech content and removable roof panels that create an open-air experience. Buyers who placed orders will be happy to know that production of the Hummer EV SUV has begun.
2025 GMC Hummer EV : Interior
Inside, the Hummer EV SUV’s three-dimensional instrument cluster features both vertical and horizontal air vents and a pair of large screens that include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The Hummer has plenty of hard buttons and physical switchgear, including the chunky T-shaped shifter and the rotary drive mode selector on the center console. Materials on the top-of-the-line Edition 1 also look quite upmarket, with leather-stitched surfaces and distinctive bronze accents, but there are cheap plastic panels on the lower parts of the dash and door panels, giving it a different look and feel.
Another defining feature of the Hummer’s cabin is the removable roof panels. Called the Infinity Roof, the system allows users to lift four transparent Sky Panels and I-bars above front seat passengers. The GMC Hummer EV has storage space under the cargo floor, as well as a generous 82 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seat folded, but the high cargo floor increases the effort involved when loading heavy items.
Hummer’s cutting-edge electric technology will be complemented by a large 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and extensive connectivity options. As with most GMC models, desirable content like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription Wi-Fi hotspot are expected to come standard. We also expect available upgrades to include a powerful Bose stereo, built-in navigation, rear-seat infotainment system, and wireless charging. The Hummer SUV also comes with a 6.0 kW onboard generator that can be used to power all kinds of equipment and even charge other EVs.
2025 GMC Hummer EV : Engine
The SUV version of the Hummer EV pickup truck will be powered by two or three electric motors. The Hummer EV2 and EV2X feature a dual-motor setup that produces an estimated 625 horsepower and GM’s claimed 7,400 pound-feet of torque. The EV3X and Edition 1 feature triple motors with a claimed 830 ponies and 11,500 pound-feet. In our testing, the most powerful Hummer EV SUV hit 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. This was a serious speed for such a large and heavy machine. Compared to the pickup truck, the SUV has a shorter wheelbase, which will make it more maneuverable in parking situations and on trails.
Every Hummer benefits from GM’s new Ultium battery technology, making it more environmentally friendly than the old gas-guzzling H2 and H2 SUT. While the base EV2 model has a standard 400-volt electrical system, it is also offered with the 800-volt system that comes standard on all other trims. The Hummer EV SUV has a massive 170.0 kWh battery that provides 250 miles of highway driving in our testing. The EPA’s fuel economy estimates for the Hummer EV SUV are the same as its pickup sibling’s numbers. With standard tires, the Hummer EV SUV is rated for 59 MPGe city and 48 MPGe highway, but opt for all-terrain rubber and those numbers drop to 55 MPGe city and 45 MPGe highway.
2025 GMC Hummer EV : Safety
The Hummer EV SUV will feature an improved version of GM’s Super Cruise that will allow hands-free driving on the highway. It is expected to be equipped with a host of driver assistance technologies that currently adorn many mainstream models. Crash test results for the Hummer EV SUV will be available on the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Key safety features will likely include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and forward collision warning.
