2025 Honda Civic
The 2025 Honda Civic is a popular compact car produced by Honda, a Japanese automobile manufacturer. The Civic was positioned between the Honda Fit/City and the Honda Accord in Honda’s global automobile range. All models come with touchscreen infotainment and a generous list of driver-assist features, with more attractive options available across the lineup. The 2025 Civic is only available as a front-wheel drive car.
The Civic comes standard with a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The upgraded engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower. Sedan and hatchback body styles are available, and you can choose from a quartet of four-cylinder engines and two transmissions: a continuously variable automatic (CVT) or a six-speed manual. The Civic’s combination of value, efficiency, subtleties, and refined road manners make it a no-brainer, even when compared to equally respected rivals such as the Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, and Toyota Corolla.
2025 Honda Civic : Interior
Inside, the interior design features clean lines and a dashboard with a full-width honeycomb mesh design element that cleverly hides the air vents. A wide center console appears less cluttered than the previous model’s and features a large, deep compartment ahead of the gearshift to hold smartphones, keys, and snacks for road trips. Honda says passenger space is about the same and the cargo compartment is more generous.
The Honda Civic comes standard with a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, but a larger 9.0-inch unit is optional, as is a 10.2-inch digital gauge display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard and offer wireless connectivity when paired with a larger screen. Additional available options are a wireless smartphone charging pad, in-dash navigation, and a Bose stereo system.
The Civic sedan’s 14.8 cubic feet of trunk space is better than average for the compact car class, and there’s usually more than enough room for several bags of groceries or a few pieces of carry-on luggage. Drivers who need more space can opt for the Civic hatchback and its 24.5 cubic feet of space; These models also feature a wide opening to facilitate loading and unloading of bulky items. Folding the rear seats opens up enough space for a typical mountain or road bike.
2025 Honda Civic : Engine
Honda Civic models come standard with a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder, while the upgraded engine remains a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that now makes 180 horsepower. However, a six-speed manual transmission is still available on the hatchback model. At our test track, our turbocharged Touring sedan needed 7.5 seconds to reach 60 mph, which is slightly slower than the last-generation Civic’s output. The manual Sport Touring hatchback we tested performed slightly better, at 7.3 seconds to 60 mph. According to the EPA, the most fuel-efficient version of the 2025 Civic EX is the mid-range model, which achieves ratings of 33 mpg city, 42 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined. In testing on highway route 75 mph, the Civic Sport hatchback delivered 36 mpg.
2025 Honda Civic : Safety
