2025 BMW iX : Interior
The iX’s interior design is both simple and modern, with a number of high-tech elements including a large curved touchscreen instrument cluster and hexagon-shaped steering wheel. BMW offers an optional large panoramic sunroof with electrochromic shading, which is a tricky feature only found in a few tools. The electric front seats are also heated and have integrated speakers for the iX’s stereo system. Both faux leather upholstery and real leather are offered, but BMW also offers a cloth seat fabric option called Loft, which uses microfiber fabric.
Intonationally BMW iX was the launch pad for BMW’s iDrive 8 infotainment software but has since offered a free over-the-air update to iDrive 8.5. The system enables customization of menus and graphics, as well as a voice-activated assistant. The large 14.9-inch infotainment screen combines with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster to create the iX’s high-tech instrument cluster design. BMW offers connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and also offers a Wi-Fi hotspot with 5G cellular connectivity. 2025 BMW iX : Engine
The BMW is offered in two different variants if the BMW ix 2025 EV, the first is the xDrive50, powered by a pair of electric motors that combine to produce 516 horsepower; all-wheel drive is standard. In our testing, the iX xDrive50 hit 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds. The high-performance model, called the M60, offers a whopping 610 horsepower, which estimate is enough to propel the midsize SUV to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. Adjustable air suspension and rear-wheel steering are optional on the entry-level xDrive 50 and standard on the M60.
The BMW iX has a large 105.2 kWh battery pack, which the EPA estimates will deliver 324 miles of driving range per charge. Normally highway driving quickly reduces an EV’s overall driving range, and the result is a fraction of the overall range estimate, the iX recorded an impressive 290 miles of range in our testing. The 610-horsepower M60 used in the same test also reached a range of 290 miles. DC fast charging is standard, and the iX can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 35 minutes when connected to a 200 kW connection.
BMW has partnered with EVgo to provide a network of public charging stations for iX drivers, but the SUV can also charge via a Level 2 home charging station, among other popular networks. The EPA calculates most efficient iX model is the one equipped with standard 20-inch wheels, achieving 86 MPGe city and 87 MPGe highway. Going with one of the iX’s larger wheelsets reduces these numbers, but only slightly. In the testing test, iX calculated 75-mph highway fuel economy, 81 MPGe delivered an excellent range of 290 miles.
