2023 Buick LaCrosse
The 2023 Buick LaCrosse is a mid-size sedan manufactured and marketed by Buick. The 2023 Buick LaCrosse is in its third generation, positioned above the Buick Regal as the brand’s flagship vehicle. The first-generation LaCrosse replaced the Century and Regal in the North as the brand’s mid-size car. The Buick LaCrosse car was originally sold in Canada as the Buick Allure. In 2010, the LaCrosse was completely redesigned and upgraded to a larger premium sedan. The model has been redesigned for 2017.
The 2023 LaCrosse plush ride, heavily padded seats, and roomy interior provide plenty of comforts, but the usual driving dynamics play the role of a near-luxury sedan choice for the disinterested driver. The Buick technology offerings are extensive, and driver assistance technology is also strongly present here. The LaCrosse is a lavishly styled big sedan with a roomy cabin and a long feature list, but it’s the classic Buick softness that can keep it off some shopping lists.
2023 Buick LaCrosse : Interior
The 2023 LaCrosse boasts handsome interiors and a contemporary cabin design, while several less expensive rivals are just as attractive. LaCrosse’s long, broadly contoured front panel is covered in luxury materials such as wood, faux leather, and satin chrome trim. The center console is similarly curved and rises to meet the instrument cluster just below the infotainment screen.
The comfortable, electrically adjustable seats in the front are perfect for long-distance cruising; Essence upholstery adds heated seats and Premium seats are both heated and cooled. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard across the entire range and is adjusted via buttons on the console or the infotainment touchscreen. All Buick LaCrosse models feature an 8.0-inch full-color touchscreen display with IntelliLink, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The interface is easy to use, although the user has little technological knowledge.
Some of the on-screen buttons are small and difficult to press while driving, but thankfully these are limited to less-used menus and settings. Simple tasks such as changing the radio station or changing sources require very little effort. Navigation is optional with real-time traffic and weather updates. Otherwise, all other connectivity features are standard across the range, including built-in Wi-Fi and 4G LTE data connectivity.
2023 Buick LaCrosse : Engine
The Buick LaCrosse is available in base 1SV, Preferred, Essence, Sport Touring, Premium, and Avenir trim levels. All but the Sport Touring and Avenir come standard with a mild hybrid powertrain known as the eAssist, with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, six-speed automatic and a small electric motor that together produces 194 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. . The 3.6-liter V6 (310 hp, 268 lb-ft) paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission is standard on the Avenir and Sport Touring, and optional on the Preferred, Essence, and Premium. Front-wheel drive is standard, while Essence, Premium, and Avenir can be equipped with all-wheel drive (V6 only). The LaCrosse eAssist hybrid has higher EPA fuel economy estimates than the V-6 and even surpasses the Nissan Maxima. In our 200-mile real-world fuel economy test, the LaCrosse eAssist sent some competitors back to the gas pumps with a 38 mpg result.
2023 Buick LaCrosse : Safety
The Buick LaCrosse crash test results prove that in the event of an accident, it is up to him to protect occupants. Unfortunately, headlight performance did not meet expectations in tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, preventing it from earning the organization’s top rating. Driver assistance technologies are available but require paying for an option package or raising money for a more expensive model. The 2023 Buick LaCrosse’s key safety features include blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive headlights, rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and a head-up display.
