The 2023 Buick LaCrosse is a mid-size sedan manufactured and marketed by Buick. The 2023 Buick LaCrosse is in its third generation, positioned above the Buick Regal as the brand’s flagship vehicle. The Buick LaCrosse is available in base 1SV, Preferred, Essence, Sport Touring, Premium, and Avenir trim levels. All but the Sport Touring and Avenir come standard with a mild hybrid powertrain known as the eAssist, with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, six-speed automatic and a small electric motor that together produces 194 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. . The 3.6-liter V6 (310 hp, 268 lb-ft) paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission is standard on the Avenir and Sport Touring, and optional on the Preferred, Essence, and Premium. Front-wheel drive is standard, while Essence, Premium, and Avenir can be equipped with all-wheel drive (V6 only). The LaCrosse eAssist hybrid has higher EPA fuel economy estimates than the V-6 and even surpasses the Nissan Maxima. In our 200-mile real-world fuel economy test, the LaCrosse eAssist sent some competitors back to the gas pumps with a 38 mpg result.
