2023 Cadillac ATS
The 2023 Cadillac ATS is a compact executive 4-door sedan and 2-door coupe manufactured and marketed by Cadillac and developed at General Motors. The 2023 Cadillac ATS performance chops are strong, but with a predicted below-average reliability rating and unimpressive cabin quality, with tight seating and luggage space. The ATS is based on General Motors’ Alpha platform and is available in rear or all-wheel drive configurations. The Cadillac ATS sedan is available in four trim levels: Basic, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Premium Performance.
The Basic and Luxury trims come with an eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional but only available with an automatic transmission. Premium Luxury and Premium Performance equipment comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional on Premium Luxury. Premium Performance equipment is rear-wheel drive only.
2023 Cadillac ATS : Interior
The Cadillac 2023 ATS coupe seats four people in two rows. The front seats remain supportive, whether you’re cornering or on a long journey. Cab space is adequate, but taller drivers may want more headroom. The car is quite narrow, so you sit very close to the front passenger. The second row is cramped and difficult to get in and out of. A sloping rear roof and small windows limit the driver’s rear view. The ATS lags behind many of its luxury competitors in terms of cabin quality. The materials and design are nice enough, but you’ll probably notice some rough finishes.
All Cadillac ATS variants come standard with an 8.0-inches infotainment display based on the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) system. While some of the roughness of this infotainment unit has been smoothed out, certain functions and frequently used commands still require a lot of driver attention. At least the CUE comes packed with tech goodies, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, Bluetooth, satellite radio, three USB ports, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system. Navigation and head-up displays are available on the top trims.
2023 Cadillac ATS : Engine
The Cadillac ATS comes standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s energetic enough for most driving situations, and the eight-speed automatic transmission provides smooth, sharp gear changes. However, this base drivetrain can be noisy and unrefined at high speeds and feel out of place in a luxury coupe. An available naturally aspirated V6 engine is better at propulsion ATS. It also doesn’t suffer from the same stiffness as the standard turbo-four. The ATS-V is the performance car in the series, with a twin-turbocharged V6 that makes it almost track-ready.
2023 Cadillac ATS : Safety
Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash-tested the Cadillac ATS. This is common among luxury vehicles. Standard 2023 Cadillac ATS advanced safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, distance indicator, Rain-sensitive windshield wipers, collision warning, Lane departure warning, parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, high beams, warning seat, automatic emergency braking, Head-up display.
