2025 Cadillac Optiq
The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is a battery-electric, compact, luxury crossover SUV that will be sold under the Cadillac subdivision of American automaker General Motors and produced by SAIC-GM, a joint venture between Chinese manufacturer Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and General Motors. The overall appearance is similar to that of the Cadillac Lyriq and will be available in China in 2023 and in North America in 2024.
Cadillac is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2023 and will be sold in North America later in 2024. Cadillac Optiq will be available in two hardware options with 150 kW and 180 kW power respectively, intended to be a lower-priced, entry-level EV for the brand. The Optiq 2025 model will slot below the mid-size Lyriq and compete with vehicles like the Audi Q4 e-tron, Genesis GV60, and Mercedes-Benz EQB.
Optiq’s name ending in “iq” also puts the Optiq in line with Cadillac’s other electric models, including the Cadillac Escalade IQ and the Celestiq flagship. The Optiq looks quite striking in the bright orange color shown in these first photos and features sleek-looking headlights and taillights, as well as lots of chrome and gloss black trim.
2025 Cadillac Optiq : Interior
Overall, we can expect the Cadillac Optiq’s interior to be spacious, luxurious, and technologically advanced, with ample seating for five passengers. The dashboard is dominated by a large touchscreen infotainment system, and the center console features a rotary gear selector. The materials used throughout the cabin are high-quality, and the overall design is elegant and modern. However, there may be some minor changes to accommodate the Optiq’s smaller size. For example, the Optiq may have a slightly smaller touchscreen infotainment system and a slightly smaller center console.
The features are expected for Cadillac Optiq include a large touchscreen infotainment system, rotary gear selector, premium sound system, heated and cooled seats, panoramic sunroof, and head-up display. Cadillac has not yet released any information about the Optiq’s interior dimensions. However, it can be expected to be similar to Lyriq’s. The Cadillac Lyriq has 39.6 inches of front headroom, 40.4 inches of rear headroom, 39.1 inches of front legroom, and 39.4 inches of rear legroom.
2025 Cadillac Optiq : Engine
Like the Equinox EV’s powertrain configurations, Optiq’s adoption could mean a standard single-motor setup with a 210-horsepower electric motor powering the front wheels and an optional dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup that bumps up to 290 hp. Range estimates may sit somewhere around 300 miles in the longest-range configurations. It will have less range than the larger Lyriq, which reaches an EPA-estimated range of 314 miles on a full charge. Expect the Optiq to get closer to 250 miles of total range, thanks to a smaller battery pack than the 102 kWh unit can be founded in the Lyriq. Regarding battery and powertrain configurations, keeping that word quiet so far. A safe assumption is that the rear-wheel drive version will be the standard configuration, while all-wheel drive will be an available option.
2025 Cadillac Optiq : Safety
The Cadillac has not yet released any official safety ratings for the Optiq, expected to be equipped with several advanced safety features, including airbags, seatbelts, automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keep assist (LKA), adaptive cruise control (ACC), blind-spot monitoring (BSM), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA). The Optiq is expected to have a strong body structure that will help protect the occupants in the event of a collision. Overall, the Cadillac Optiq is expected to be a very safe vehicle.
