The 2025 GMC Sierra is a line of full-size and heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by General Motors under the GMC brand. The 2025 GMC Sierra is available in eight trim levels: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. Three cabin configurations are offered: regular cab, crew cab, and crew cab, three-berth lengths are available depending on the cabin configuration.

Starting from SLE, the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel becomes standard. Spending big on upper trims unlocks even more desirable features like a head-up display and a power-adjustable steering column. The Denali Ultimate is where things get seriously luxurious, thanks to an abundance of open-pore wood trim and leather-wrapped surfaces. In addition to massage functions, the front seats also have a 16-way electric adjustment. The small storage space inside is more than enough to store all kinds of small items.

The Sierra 1500 can be purchased with a trick tailgate in multiple configurations. There’s also a class-exclusive carbon fiber-reinforced cargo bed that’s lighter and supposedly stronger than steel. Sierra 1500s feature a 13.4-inch touchscreen that runs the truck’s infotainment system. The display includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, and also has Google software built-in, allowing users to access an app store, maps, and voice assistant.  Other available features are wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and additional power points are included.

The GMC Sierra is available with four different engines, two different transmissions, and rear- or all-wheel drive. The base setup is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. There are two V-8 options: a 355-hp 5.3-liter and a 420-hp 6.2-liter. The torque-rich diesel six-cylinder engine produces 460 pound-feet. In a test track, a loaded Denali Ultimate model with the 6.2-liter V-8 engine hit 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. The Sierra 1500 can also be purchased with adaptive shock absorbers and wheels as wide as 22 inches. Sierra (Chevrolet Silverado) lacks the outstanding off-road capabilities of the high-flying Ford F-150 Raptor, but it does offer two dedicated off-road models.

The 2025 GMC pickup can tow up to 13,200 pounds and is capable of carrying up to 2,240 pounds when properly equipped. The Sierra 1500 has several different powertrain combinations, which means fuel economy ratings vary. Those most concerned with fuel efficiency should entertain the optional diesel engine, rated at 23 mpg city and up to 30 mpg highway. However, most Sierras will have the 6.2-liter V-8 engine that comes standard on every Denali model. It’s estimated to earn up to 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway when paired with all-wheel drive.

The half-ton Sierra has several standard driver-assistance technologies that also come with useful off-road aids like Off-Road Mode, which allows one-pedal driving in low-speed situations. The Sierra Denali can be equipped with GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, which operates on an extensive road network across the country and can even be used with a trailer attached. Crash test results will be available on the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). 2025 GMC Sierra’s key safety features include blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist.
