2026 Honda Prelude
The 2026 Honda Prelude is a sport-compact car manufactured by Honda. The 2026 Honda Prelude is a hybrid sports coupe that will likely go on sale in the US by 2026. The 2026 Prelude will be a new addition to Honda’s lineup, replacing the discontinued Civic and Accord coupes. The 2026 Honda Prelude styling is stylish, and it looks exactly how you’d imagine a 21st-century Prelude. Powertrain and mechanical details are subtle, expect it to share the same components as the Honda Civic and Honda Accord models, and Honda promises it will deliver an enjoyable driving experience.
Although its name may sound familiar, the Prelude will be a new addition to Honda’s lineup and will replace the discontinued coupe versions of the Civic and Accord. We hope to hear more about the Prelude’s trim levels and price points, and its positioning soon. Honda Prelude will likely compete with other affordable sports cars, including the Toyota GR86 and Mazda MX-5 Miata.
2026 Honda Prelude : Interior
The 2026 Honda Prelude is expected to be a hybrid sports coupe that will replace the discontinued coupe versions of the Civic and Accord. The interior of the 2026 Honda Prelude is unknown, but videos on YouTube show the interior, exterior, and top speed. The 2026 Honda Prelude has a spacious and comfortable interior with premium leather upholstery, heated and cooled seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, carbon fiber instrument panel, 2+2 configuration with seating for four, the rear seats may not be wide and taller.
For those with legs, a 10-speed automatic transmission, adjustable suspension for a comfortable ride, a panoramic sunroof on the touring model, premium sound system on the touring model. Modest cargo space, with about 10 cubic feet of space, can be increased by folding the rear seats.
2026 Honda Prelude : Engine
All Honda has revealed so far is that the Prelude concept car has a hybrid powertrain. It’s suspected Prelude will be powered by a version of the hybrid system found in Honda models including the CR-V, Accord, and the upcoming 2025 Civic hybrid. The Accord produces 204 horsepower from its hybrid setup that includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, but we expect the Prelude to offer more power than that, given its performance expectations.
Honda hybrids are generally extremely frugal, so the Prelude’s running costs should be quite reasonable. The midsize Accord Hybrid, for example, can achieve up to 48 mpg combined, giving it a range of more than 600 miles. It does not seem possible that the Prelude, which is expected to be a normal hybrid rather than a plug-in hybrid, will have a fully electric driving range.
2026 Honda Prelude : Safety
Honda vehicles include a suite of safety features called Honda Sensing, first introduced on the 2015 CR-V Touring model. Honda Sensing includes a small windshield-mounted camera that can detect whether a vehicle is at risk of a collision. The system then provides visual and audible signals and can automatically apply brake pressure if the driver does not react quickly. The 2026 Honda Prelude will have safety and driver assistance features. The previous model of the Prelude featured an optional fully mechanical four-wheel steering system.
