2024 GMC Hummer EV
The 2024 GMC Hummer EV (also known as 2024 Hummer EV and 2024 Hummer HEV) is a line of battery-electric full-size vehicles manufactured by General Motors under the GMC brand and its own sub-brand. The Hummer EV series was introduced with the introduction of the pickup truck (SUT) in 2020, and the sports utility vehicle (SUV) model in April 2021. The GMC Hummer EV comes from the discontinued Hummer brand (stylized HUMMER), formerly owned by General Motors. AM General created the hummer brand. They previously produced the HUMVEE light military vehicle. The Hummer EV is manufactured at GM’s Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly plant in Michigan. Production of the Hummer EV SUT began on 17 November 2021.

The 2024 Hummer EV SUV is expected to start production in early 2023. GM recently invested $2.2 billion in the plant to manufacture these electric vehicles. 2024 Hummer pickup trucks are the next frontier for electric vehicles, as competitors from established automakers like Ford, as well as startups Rivian and Tesla, are launching their own entries in this emerging segment. While Hummer is an old name, the Hummer EV will be a completely new model in the GMC lineup. At first, only the most expensive Edition 1 model will be available; Cheaper decorations will appear in 2023 and 2024.
2024 GMC Hummer EV : Interior
Interior materials could be of higher quality, given the Hummer’s price tag and the cabin isn’t quite as roomy as GMC’s Sierra crew-cab pickup truck. But the interior can open up to the elements via a new removable roof that reintroduces a T-top-like design popular in GM sports and muscle cars. The front trunk of the Hummer EV gives the truck a convertible similar to that of the Jeep Gladiator. A large 13.4-inch screen serves as the infotainment display, and there’s also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

GMC has signed a contract with Epic Games, the makers of the hugely popular Fortnite video game, to create the graphics for the Hummer EV’s infotainment interface. The high-resolution display and advanced graphics look great, but we did notice some noticeable lag, which indicates that the system doesn’t quite have the processing power it needs to keep up with the software’s capabilities. A host of connectivity features are standard, including Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and GM’s OnStar telematics system.
2024 GMC Hummer EV : Engine
The 2024 Hummer EV is a setup with three electric motors producing 1,000 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard, and in our tests, the Hummer EV hit 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds thanks to the Watts to Freedom launch-controlled drive mode. While the acceleration performance fascinated us, the braking performance disappointed us. Slowing the entire mass of the Hummer EV from 70 mph to a standstill took an extra-long 211 feet, and repeated runs resulted in a noticeable weakening of the brake. GMC says the Hummer EV, has less than the towing capacities of other EV pickups like the Rivian R1T and Ford F-150 Lightning, which is rated at 11,000 pounds and 10,000 pounds, respectively.
2024 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1
The Hummer EV uses GM’s modern Ultium battery pack technology and has an estimated driving range of 329 miles per charge. Hummer uses an 800-volt electric architecture with 350-kilowatt fast charging, which GMC claims will add 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. The Hummer EV can also charge at regular public charging terminals or at home via a provided adapter, though charging times are significantly slower.

The GM’s Super Cruise hands-free mode is a standard feature, and we found it to work pretty well. There are also more advanced features like lane assist and blind spot monitoring. The GMC Hummer EV 2024 model’s key safety features include adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and hands-free mode.
