2023 Hyundai Azera
The 2023 Hyundai Azera Grandeur is an executive sedan manufactured and marketed by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai. The Hyundai Azera Grandeur was the flagship of Hyundai’s South Korean lineup before the Hyundai Dynasty was introduced. The Grandeur has evolved over five generations with intermediate restyling and is marketed worldwide under various nameplates notably the Hyundai Azera.

As the Azera, the Genesis was the flagship of Hyundai’s US and Canadian lineup until the sedan came along. After the launch of the separate Genesis brand, Grandeur/Azera took its place as the company’s flagship. Hyundai Azera 2023 is no longer marketed in the United States and Canada. The sedan continued to be found in South Korea and the Middle East. Hyundai’s spacious and quiet cabin has comfortable seats and ample space for five. The drivetrain is smooth, powerful, and fuel efficient.

While handling is improved, the Azera still lacks agility, and its ride quality lags behind the expectations set by its looks and the class it’s trying to play. The Hyundai Genesis sedan is seen by auto journalists as a competitor to the aforementioned full-size and near-luxury vehicles, with the Azera positioned against the likes of the Ford Taurus, Toyota Avalon, and Buick LaCrosse.

You can upgrade to Azera’s Limited trim for a few added comforts and some additional safety gear. 2023 Azera Grandeur adds 19-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights with automatic high beam control, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and forward collision warning systems, rear parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, an electric rear sunshade, and manual side window sunshades.

The Azera has a lot of space inside and lots of luxury trim, but the hard plastics give the otherwise luxurious cabin a cheap feel. The optional panoramic sunroof consumes a lot of headroom. Located right in the middle of the large sedan segment, the Azera has ample luggage space, average small storage space, and a 60/40 split folding rear seat for transporting larger items. Door pockets, center console, and glove box storage are average for the class. The Azera has ample cargo volume with 16.3 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk, but it’s really about the class average. The gooseneck hinges of the chest are hidden in order not to break the objects placed in the trunk.
2023 Hyundai Azera : Engine
The lowest trim level on the 2023 Azera might be called basic and comes with many features. Standard equipment includes a 3.3-liter V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Azera’s 3.3-liter V6 is an efficient drivetrain, and the suspension does a pretty good job of balancing ride quality with handling precision. The 293 horsepower V6 drives the bold and large sedan with authority. The six-speed automatic may not shift particularly fast, but it does so with unusual smoothness. In the testing, the 2023 Azera Hyundai accelerated from zero to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, which is the average for large sedans with a V6.
2023 Hyundai Azera : Safety
The standard safety features include electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, traction control, and a rearview camera. Parking assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert, and lane departure alert are optionally available. The 2023 Hyundai Azera Grandeur is appropriately loaded with features and competitively priced, but our testers felt it no longer represented a bargain.
