2025 Infiniti Q70
The 2025 Infiniti Q70 and 2025 Infiniti Q70L are a lineup of mid-size luxury cars manufactured by Infiniti. Essentially an update to the Infiniti M lineup with minor cosmetic changes, the name Q70 was introduced to reflect Infiniti’s updated “Q” nomenclature. The Infinity Q Infiniti lineup was renamed and the M sedans became the Infinity Q70, reflecting the model’s relative position in the Infiniti lineup, rather than the displacement used previously.

The Infinity 2023 Q70 is stylish, but the good looks and attractive interior aren’t enough to steal attention from fresher foes. A 330-hp V-6 or a 416-hp V-8 powers the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic. A long list of active safety technologies is optional, including all-wheel drive and adaptive cruise control. An elongated Infinity Q70L model adds 5.6 inches of rear legroom and extra luxury for rear-seat passengers. The ride is smooth but the steering is artificially heavy, which makes the Q70 fun to drive.

Inside, the cabin has overall very good ergonomics. The dashboard and console wrap tightly around the driver. Even the standard-wheelbase model has ample rear legroom. The old technology interface is the main drawback. The cabin is beautifully adorned with lots of leather and interesting industrial metal accents. In general, the quality of the material is high and the assembly tolerances seem tight. The control knob and adjacent seat heater buttons lag behind the market, the layout is mostly user-friendly. Infiniti hasn’t touched the Q70’s touchscreen interface, for the most part, this decade, and its advanced age is immediately apparent.

Meanwhile, the Infiniti Q70’s rivals decisively took the lead. The touchscreen is too far from the driver, and the redundant control knob is less intuitive than competitors. The front sight is excellent and is playfully framed by curved front fenders like on a Corvette. The rising beltline and sloping rear roofline combine to block the rear view a bit, but it’s still manageable. The seats are high relative to the floor, so you slide comfortably on them instead of falling over them. The ceiling inside is high enough to not get in your way, even at the rear. Door openings are more than enough.

The base Infiniti Q70 Luxe gets motivation from a 3.7-liter V6 (330 horsepower, 270 pound-feet of torque). The 2023 Q70 Infiniti is praised for its competent handling and smooth ride, but some critics say the ride quality is a bit unsettling on rough roads. Its base engine provides more than enough power for everyday use, and this sedan is available with a more powerful V8. Each tool typically comes in multiple versions that are fundamentally similar. The ratings in this review are based on full testing of the Infiniti Q70 5.6 w/Premium Select Edition package. The wraparound instrument cluster and raised center console make the Q70 feel more like a sports car than the driver’s seat, with various adjustments for taller or shorter drivers. The power steering column has a large number of tilt and engagement ranges.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration only partially crash-tested the Infiniti Q70 and gave it four out of five stars in frontal crash and rollover tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2023 Q70 the highest Good rating in five crash tests. Standard LED headlights received the second-highest Acceptable rating for how well they illuminate the road ahead. Optional adaptive LED headlights received the second-lowest Marginal rating. IIHS uses a different scale to rate collision avoidance features.

The Infinity Q70 earned the highest Superior rating for the optional vehicle-to-vehicle forward collision avoidance system. 2025 Infiniti Q70 standard and advanced safety features include blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, windscreen wipers, lane keeping assist, parking sensors, collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive headlights, 360-degree parking camera system with object detection.
