KIA K5 models are equipped with a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. With this engine, the K5 has standard front-wheel drive; All-wheel drive is optional. The full Monty GT model has a powerful 2.5-liter turbo four that produces 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Paired with the unique eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the sportier K5 has larger brakes, a unique suspension tune, and wider tires on larger 19-inch wheels. The EPA has not yet released estimates for the K5 with the four-cylinder engine, the K5 GT is rated at 24 mpg city and 32 highway. 2025 K5 on-road with 75 mph fuel economy and real-world test results. In testing, it surpassed its rating by 4, achieving 36 mpg.
