The GLE350 we tested took 6.6 seconds to reach 60 mph, while the six-cylinder GLE450 clocked a time of 5.3 seconds. The GLE450e hybrid matched this with a time of 5.3 seconds. Every GLE can be equipped with an advanced air suspension system that can lean into corners and release itself if the driver gets stuck in sand or mud. The standard setup is standard steel springs and anti-roll bars.

The GLE450e model comes with a 23.3 kWh battery and is rated to provide 48 miles of range on a full charge. Surprisingly, the all-wheel-drive, six-cylinder GLE450 has the same fuel economy as the rear-wheel-drive, four-cylinder GLE350, both have EPA ratings of 20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway (22 mpg combined). The V-8-powered GLE580 burns gas at a brisk pace and is expected to get ratings of 16 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined. On our fuel-efficient 75 mph route, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 4Matic with all-wheel drive returned 25 mpg and the GLE450 4Matic 23 mpg. The GLE450e hybrid is rated at 24 mpg combined and earned 25 mpg in our highway economy test.
